Drew Barrymore stays close with all her exes.
“People are always like ‘Is it awkward?’ I’m like, ‘No: because if you can’t be with somebody, it doesn’t mean that the love has to go away — it just transfers to something different that works at that point in your life,’” she tells Ellen DeGeneres in an interview that airs today.
“I’m really close with some of the people I’ve been with in my life because they’ve had such an impact on it that I don’t want them to go away, you know,” she adds.

“She would call McCall up and go, ‘Can you come and sit with me? I’m cold,’” she said. “She would drag him on the set and then pout and they’d fight. Mainly, it was her needing something from him: ‘Can you say you love me?’”
